Outdoor Spring Cleaning

If only we could have some of these helpers to do our outdoor Spring Cleaning!

Spring is here!

Now that you have most likely finished cleaning the inside of your house, it is time to head outdoors and tidy up the yard and clean the outside of the house! We hope this list helps you get the job done a little quicker and a little easier.

Windows

Start by removing the screen from the outside. Gently scrub the screen with a brush and soapy water, spray off with a water hose after scrubbing. Clean the window the same way.

Gutters

Everybody's favorite job! Use caution while you are up on the ladder cleaning out your gutters. If you are not using some sort of scoop to get leaves and gunk out of the gutters, then please wear gloves so you do not cut your hand on any jagged metal.

Yard Work

Your yard has probably spent all winter with little care from you because, lets face it, who really wants to go do yard work during the gloominess of winter? Now is the time to rake all the leaves out of your yard. Cut the grass if it already needs it. Do a little landscaping to beautify your yard! A few flower pots with brand new foliage can totally transform the appearance of your yard!

Wash the house

Now is the time to break out the pressure washer! Wash off all the dirt and dust from the winter months. If the exterior of your house cannot handle being pressure washed then a long brush and water hose will work too. If you have concrete sidewalks and driveways go ahead and freshen those up too. You'll be amazed at how dirty your concrete gets.

Still more to do

These are just some of the major areas to focus on like painting, making repairs to fences, and cleaning out the garage. As long as you have done the major points your yard and home will be looking beautiful. It will be almost like winter, "Never even happened!"

Spring is Here!

Everyone loves a clean house, but not the cleaning of the house!

Time for Spring Cleaning

Spring is here and we all know what that means, Spring cleaning! While everyone enjoys a clean home, not everyone enjoys the process of doing the actual cleaning. The hardest part can be getting organized and getting started. Here's a few tips to help you get started.

Walls and Ceilings

You should dust and wipe all your walls and ceilings. Use a vacuum to remove hard to reach dust and cobwebs. Use a solvent-free degreaser to remove dirt and grime off of walls, but be sure to test an area first to make sure it is safe to use on your wall.

Dust Everything!

Seriously! Dust every nook and cranny in the house. Tops of ceiling fan blades, tops of cabinets, book shelves, books, window casings, blinds, and anything else you can think of! Your home has accumulated a lot of dust and it is time to get rid of it!

Vacuum

Vacuum upholstered furniture cushions and underneath the cushions. Vacuum your entire home thoroughly! After all the vacuuming of you furniture and carpets is done be sure to call SERVPRO of Putnam County to have us come out and professionally clean them for you!

Tile

Your tile and grout is usually one thing that gets overlooked in your home. You could get down on your hands and knees and scrub your grout lines with a toothbrush for hours, or you could call us to come and take care of it for you in a matter of minutes! After it is all cleaned you may want to consider sealing your grout to keep it looking good for a longer period of time.

Still more to do outside

We hope this list helped make tackling you Spring cleaning just a little easier. Stay tuned for some helpful tips for cleaning the outside of your home!
